AI architectural notes
The project's working documents and architecture decision records, kept for the AI agents that build Stained Glass OS and for contributors. They record decisions tersely, as working notes, and are not user documentation: for using the system, see the guide. Rendered from the stained-glass repository; each code repository's CLAUDE.md has the engineering detail.

Architecture decisions
- 0001. Wine build source for the image
- 0002. WoW64 mode and the image's architecture
- 0003. Display path: cage + XWayland + winex11, or winewayland
- 0004. Licensing: AGPL-3.0-or-later where possible
- 0005. Build Wine ourselves, for 32-bit support on a pure amd64 image
- 0006. Wine prohibits LLM-generated code
- 0007. The shell: extend Wine's explorer, add our own panels beside it
- 0008 — The login and lock screens run inside Wine
- 0009 — Security model for the credential UI: at least Windows, ideally better
- 0010 — Remote access to the login and lock screen
- 0011 — sg-compositor: our own Wayland compositor, starting from cage
- 0012. Principals and elevation: who is an administrator, and how anything gets to root
- 0013. File access in the shared wineserver
- 0014. Cross-process operations in the shared wineserver
- 0015. SG Office: LibreOffice for Windows under wine-sg, installed on request
- 0016. Our own office suite: an editable engine, based on ONLYOFFICE
- 0017. SG Store: an application store that installs Windows apps first
